"It’s for this very reason that we cannot celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tracy Chapman’s Debut Album release without doing something special. It seems that there won’t be any special edition of the album for the occasion. Or maybe, it’s just Tracy who wanted to keep a low profile as she always does. So here we are with this collection of stories related to the Debut Album. We have a total of 278 stories and 33 artworks from the 5 continents and 49countries, if we put those countries on a worldwide map, more than half of the planet is covered."

Wiradjuri language: Quote from Evonne Goolagong Cawley-
Thanks to Darren Williams for help in Wiradjuri Research and in particular the 'Wiradjuri' Language" 1992. - Acknowledged in her Autobiography, "HOME".
I was the first to bring the Wiradjuri dictionary to the Wiradjuri people's and Evonne Goolagong Cawley was my first partnership to introduce it back to the community on a voluntary basis. Now the Wiradjuri language is available in apps and other platforms such as educational institutions. My family introduced it, Great Grandmother Ettie Hamilton Charles and Aunty Linda Goolagong, with Di Hoskings and Sally McNichol created one of the first Wiradjuri Dictionary's.
I proposed a updated version to the Aboriginal Institute of Studies in Canberra, in 1994,it was given to others but work and my acknowledgement from Evonne Goolagong Cawley is the first for updated Wiradjuri Language.
Thank you Aunty Evonne Goolagong Cawley for acknowledging the family in your autobiography "Home" and Ms Pamille Berg;

Involved in the Olympic 2000, Torch Relay, Griffith to Sydney for the Revival of Lost Ancient Wiradjuri language (Song and dance). For the benefit of humanity.
Thanks to the Griffith City Council, community members, Griffith Aboriginal Lands Council and Aboriginal Wiradjuri youth of Griffith for allowing me to revitalize and practice lost Ancient Aboriginal Wiradjuri songs and dances, with the Wiradjuri youth of Griffith and surrounding area's, the first in Wiradjuri country. I started in 1984 and culminating in the year 2000.
The 15 August, Day 69, was the first full day for the Olympic torch in the Olympic state. The Torch set off in a dawn downpour from Albury in a wheelchair, with a person with a disability, thousands lined the long route all the way north to Griffith (birth place of Australia's most famous Tennis Champion Evonne Goolagong-Cawley), that evening. to a Wiradjuri Welcome to Country with the Griffith Aboriginal Youth, that revived their Ancient Wiradjuri Language into Song and Dance, for a Welcome to Country ceremony, led my Wiradjuri man Darran Williams. From Griffith the flame continued south-east to Wagga Wagga for the evening celebration on August 16, greeted by most of the population of 50 000 in this regional hub that supports dairy, lamb and wheat industries. On the following morning, Day 71, the torch continued north-east to Junee and on to Cootamundra, the birthplace of Sir Donald Bradman, Australia's most famous sportsman and cricketer.

Support act with Imbala Dance Group for Warumpi Band 1993-1995. -Warumpi Band were an Australian country and Aboriginal rock group which formed in the outback settlement of Papunya, Northern Territory, in 1980 by my brother Neil Murray and Brother George Rrurrambu Burarrwanga (1957 – 10 June 2007), known in life as George Rrurrambu and George Djilangya, was known as the frontman of Warumpi Band, it started with 2 two brothers: Sammy Butcher and Gordon Butcher, together with Neil Murray, musing over backyard arrangements without the confidence of a singer. With his talent evident, he soon became the lead singer of the band.
In 1983, they released the single "Jailanguru Pakarnu" (Out of Jail),the first rock song ever released in an Australian Aboriginal language.
Three albums, Big Name No Blanket (1985), Go Bush (1988) and Too Much Humbug (1996), followed, including the anthemic songs "Blackfella/Whitefella" and "My Island Home", the latter of which was made famous when it was covered by Christine Anu in 1995.

Echoes Under the Bridge: New World Music from BEMAC - RARE Brisbane CD. 1994.
One of the first to Introduce "World Music" to the Australia and the World.
Thank you BEMAC, Brisbane. (Darran Williams on right with Didgeridoo)
A blend of echoes
Echoes Under the Bridge: new world music from BEMAC.
This is a CD from BEMAC, Brisbane's ethnic music centre, the result of a residency and workshops led by Lindsey Pollak over a four-month period.
The music is very surprising, an innovative blend of traditional and modern instruments.
Four new cross-cultural groups were formed out of the experience: Orixa, Moitree, Encuentro and Omoyo Gua.
The instruments and musicians come from many countries — from India, Japan, Latin America, Greece, Angola, Hungary — as well as Aboriginal performers Darran Williams on didgeridoo and Mathew Brady, songman.
It would seem that such a hotchpotch of traditions, ancient and new instruments invented for the occasion couldn't possibly work, but it does, marvelously. The music is extremely lively and vibrant, a real reflection of the creativity of our multicultural society.
The name, Echoes Under the Bridge, refers to the Storey Bridge, a landmark of Brisbane, under which BEMAC holds its popular monthly concerts.
The CD can be obtained from BEMAC in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Descendant of Truganini (Trugernanner, Trukanini, Trucanini) (1812?–76).
She was the daughter of Mangana, leader of a band of the south-east tribe. In her youth she took part in her people's traditional culture, but Aboriginal life was disrupted by European invasion. When Truganini met GA Robinson in 1829, her mother had been killed by sailors, her uncle shot by a soldier, her sister abducted by sealers, and her fiancé murdered by timber-getters. At Robinson's Bruny Island mission she married Woorady, and they were associated with Robinson's travels around Tasmania from 1830 to 1835, acting as his guides and teaching him their language and customs, which he recorded. They went to the Flinders Island settlement in 1835, Robinson renaming Truganini 'Lallah Rook', but she retained her traditional ways, and was dismayed at the broken promises that made the settlement a death camp for Aboriginal people.
In 1839 Truganini, Woorady and fourteen others accompanied Robinson to Port Phillip, but after two of the men were hanged for murder, the rest were sent back to Flinders, Woorady dying on the way. With the other Aborigines, Truganini went to Oyster Cove in 1847. Here she resumed to some extent her earlier lifestyle, diving for shellfish, visiting Bruny Island and hunting in the bush. By 1869 she and William Lanne were the only two 'full-bloods' alive, and in 1874 she moved to Hobart, where she died. She was concerned, rightly, that after her death her body would be mutilated by 'scientists', and it was on display in the Tasmanian Museum until 1951.
In 1976, a century after Truganini died, the Tasmanian Aboriginal community requested that Truganini be cremated and scattered in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel near her homeland. The ceremony was a moving and significant occasion which encouraged Tasmanians to recognise the ongoing existence, rights and cultural responsibilities of Tasmanian Aboriginal people.

The secret is not to give up hope. It's very hard not to because if you're really doing something worthwhile I think you will be pushed to the brink of hopelessness before you come through the other side.
I'm not much of a math and science guy. I spent most of my time in school daydreaming and managed to turn it into a living.
